What We Believe
Ascension Baptist exists to help you EXPLORE who you are in Christ, EQUIP you to be what God desires, and EMPOWER you to serve God and to reach the nations for Him.
We believe the Bible is the direct Word of God revealed by the Holy Spirit to human authors and is without error. All of Scripture is divinely inspired, is the revelation of God to man, and is completely trustworthy. We believe that God's Word contains all that we need to know about having a right relationship with Jesus Christ. Because of our beliefs about Scripture, we are dedicated to helping you EXPLORE God's Word.
Psalm 19:7-10; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Revelation 22:18-19
We are dedicated to helping you EXPLORE God's design for your life.
Who is God?
We believe that there is one God who exists eternally in three distinct persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is coeternal and coequal. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinitely holy and perfect. Because God is the creator of the universe, we can only find fulfillment and joy in life by living according to His design.
Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 40:28; John 1:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14;
Who is Man?
God created male and female in his own imagine. By man's free choice, sin entered the world. Sin has separated man from God, disrupted the created order, and brought forth death. God gave man His Word so that man could know how to please God. Yet, because of sin, no man can perfectly please God and we remain separated from Him. Because we are unable to fulfill the requirements of the law we need a substitution.
Genesis 1:26-30; Psalm 139:14; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-10
Who is Christ?
While we were still separated and enemies of God, the Father sent the Son to make payment for our sins and perfectly obey the Law. Through the payment made by the Son and the drawing of the Holy Spirit man can be brought back into a right relationship with God. At Ascension Baptist, we desire for you to personally know and trust God as your Savior and Lord. If you would like more information about following Christ click here.

For Personal Discipleship...
As Christians, our spiritual lives are not complete at the point of Salvation. God's Word gives us everything we need to follow Him. Followers of Christ are to become more and more like Christ, a process known as Sanctification. We believe this is an important process in the life of believers and we are dedicated to EQUIPPING you to grow in your walk with Christ.
Leviticus 19:2; Matthew 5:48; 2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Peter 1:15
For Public Ministry...
The New Testament speaks of the Church as the Body of Christ. We believe it is vital for Christians to be actively involved in a local assembly of believers. We desire to EQUIP you with the necessary knowledge and tools to serve in the Body of Christ. Christians must follow the example of Christ and serve one another. We desire to EMPOWER you to glorify God in every aspect of your life as you serve. We are committed to providing you with support and guidance to be a disciple in your home, at your work, and everywhere you go.

To Be A Disciple Maker...
We believe that disciples are to make more disciples. The Bible teaches that we are to be witnesses for God. We desire to EMPOWER you to not only be a disciple but to be a disciple maker. We want to give you the tools to make disciples of your family, friends, coworkers, and strangers. We believe that the Church is sent on a mission to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world.
